Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Wednesday and closed at 4,485.06 points, down by 0.24 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 622.01 points, down by 0.06 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Gulf Investment Services, up by 2.13 per cent. The top loser was Al Madina Investment, which closed lower by 4.55 per cent.
A total number of 495 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.62 million with more than 7.81 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 13 declined and 24 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR294,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR253,000, while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR548,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.37 per cent to close at 6892.96 points. Gulf Investment Services was up by 2.13 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Oman Qatar Insurance, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Vision Insurance and United Finance were down by 4.55 per cent, 3.48 per cent, 3.1 per cent, 1.33 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.02 per cent to close at 5645.24 points. Gulf International Chemicals, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Galfar Engineering and National Aluminium Products were up by 1.53 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.95 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement was down by 1.71 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.09 per cent to close at 2,469.58 points. Ooredoo was up by 0.76 per cent respectively. Omantel, Dhofar Generating Company, Al Suwadi Power and Al Batinah Power were down by 0.93 per cent, 0.92 per cent, 0.82 per cent and 0.81 per cent respectively.
