Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Sunday and closed at 4486.42 points, down by 0.20 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 618.74 points, down by 0.36 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Dhofar Generating Company, up by 1.85 per cent. Sunday’s top loser was Muscat Gases, which closed lower by 4.59 per cent.
A total number of 330 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR525,000 with more than 3.62 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 11 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR55,000 worth of shares followed by the foreign investors for OMR13,000, while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR69,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.07 per cent to close at 6914.03 points. There were no gainers on Sunday. Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding were down by 1.94 per cent and 1.57 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.74 per cent to close at 5582.44 points. National Aluminium Products was up by 0.52 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel Products, Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Voltamp Energy were down by 3.55 per cent, 2.2 per cent, 2.15 per cent and 1.03 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.36 per cent to close at 2,462.47 points. Dhofar Generating Company was up by 1.85 per cent. Muscat Gases, National Gas, Muscat City Desalination, Phoenix Power and Ooredoo were down 4.59 per cent, 3.51 per cent, 2.92 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively.
