Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower on Monday and closed at 4453.27 points, down by 0.74 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 616.73 points, down by 0.32 per cent. Gulf Investment Services was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Jazeera Steel Products, up by 2.94 per cent. Monday’s top loser was Renaissance Services, which closed lower by 3.43 per cent.
A total number of 407 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.44 million with more than 7.47 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 16 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR588,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR130,000, while Foreign investors were net sellers for OMR718,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.51 per cent to close at 6878.52 points. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, United Finance and Bank Muscat were up by 1.6 per cent, one per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively. HSBC Bank, Bank Dhofar, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa and Global Financial Investment were down by 2.5 per cent, 1.85 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.16 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.02 per cent to close at 5581.12 points. Al Jazeera Steel Products was up by 2.94 per cent. Oman Cement and Galfar Engineering were down by 1.65 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.94 per cent to close at 2,439.28 points. Muscat Gases was up by 1.48 per cent. Renaissance Services, Al Suwadi Power, Omantel, Al Jazeera Services and Phoenix Power were down 3.43 per cent, 3.31 per cent, 2.35 per cent, 0.88 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.
