Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher on Sunday and closed at 4543.68 points, up by 0.44 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 614.97 points, up by 0.15 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Sharqiyah Desalination, up by 9.82 per cent. Sunday’s top loser was Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, which closed lower by 3.85 per cent.
A total number of 684 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.16 million with more than 11.91 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded stocks, 13 advanced, 14 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR328,000 worth of shares followed by the GCC & Arab investors for OMR35,000, while Foreign investors were net buyers for OMR363,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.60 per cent to close at 7032.54 points. Ominvest, National Bank Of Oman, Bank Dhofar and United Finance were up by 6.82 per cent, 1.66 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively. Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Takaful and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were down by 3.85 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.06 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.07 per cent to close at 5535.49 points. Oman Cables Industry and Al Jazeera Steel Products were up by 2.91 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively. Oman Cement, National Aluminium Products, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Galfar Engineering and Raysut Cement were down by 1.73 per cent, 1.55 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.95 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.11 per cent to close at 2465.71 points. Sharqiyah Desalination, Oman Edu. & Trin. Inv., Oman National Engine. Invt., Ooredoo and Omantel were up by 9.82 per cent, 7.32 per cent, 5.75 per cent, 1.87 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power and Renaissance Services were down by 1.71 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively.
