Oman's shares ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4538.68 points, down by 0.44 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 611.66 points, down by 0.54 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Suwadi Power, up by 2.61 per cent. while the top loser was ACWA Power Barka which closed lower by 7.69 per cent.
A total number of 235 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating a turnover of OMR1.43 million with more than 5.43 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 12 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors remained as net sellers for OMR842,000 worth of shares followed by the Foreign investors for OMR30,000, while GCC & Arab Investors were net buyers for OMR872,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index was down by 0.09 per cent to close at 7026.16 points. Al Anwar Holding, Al Sharqiya Investment Holding and Gulf Investment Services declined by 1.71 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 1.01 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.42 per cent to close at 5512.12 points. Galfar Engineering was the only gainer and was up by 1.94 per cent to close at OMR0.105. Oman Flour Mills, Raysut Cement, Al Anwar Ceramic and Oman Fisheries declined by 2.70 per cent, 1.44 per cent, 1.16 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.37 per cent to close at 2474.90 points. Al Suwadi Power, Al Maha Petroleum and Renaissance Services increased by 2.61 per cent, 2.27 per cent and 1.94 per cent respectively. ACWA Power Barka, SMN Power, Muscat City Desalination and Al Jazeira Services fell by 7.69 per cent, 5.9 per cent, 1.49 per cent and 0.89 per cent respectively.
