Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4,516.13 points, down by 0.21 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 613.28 points, down by 0.55 per cent. Sembcorp Salalah was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Dhofar Generating Company, up by 1.36 per cent. while the top loser was Al Omaniya Financial Services bonds which closed lower by 10 per cent.
A total number of 433 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.34 million with more than 12.82 million shares changing hands. Out of 28 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 14 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR399,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR52,000 while Omani investors remained as net buyers for OMR450,000 worth of shares
Financial Index lost 0.07 per cent to close at 7,058.37 points. Bank Muscat went up by 0.47 per cent. Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Gulf Investment Services, and Al Sharqiya Investments were down by 2.08 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.09 per cent, and 1.01 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.34 per cent to close at 5,508.12 points. There were no gainers from the industry sector. Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries, and Al Maha Ceramics were down by 3.90 per cent, 1.14 per cent, and 0.94 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.41 per cent to close at 2,460.16 points. Dhofar Generating closed higher by 1.36 per cent. Sembcorp Salalah, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo, and Muscat City Desalnation were down by 2.33 per cent, 2.00 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.12 per cent, and 0.76 per cent respectively.
