Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4517.38 points, up by 0.27 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 614.51 points, up by 0.54 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Raysut Cement, up by 2.54 per cent, while the top loser was Al Suwadi Power which closed lower by 3.33 per cent.
A total number of 300 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR582,000 with more than 4.46 million shares changing hands. Out of 28 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 8 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR99,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR41,000 while GCC and Arab investors remained as net sellers for OMR140,000 worth of shares
Financial Index gained 0.09 per cent to close at 7,031.69 points. Bank Nizwa went up by 2.33 per cent. Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were down by 0.62 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.17 per cent to close at 5,503.38 points. Raysut Cement and Oman Fisheries were up by 2.54 per cent and 1.18 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.08 per cent to close at 2,458.80 points. Renaissance Services, Ooredoo and Omantel were up by 2 per cent, 1.5 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power, Dhofar Generating Company, Muscat City Desalination, Al Jazeera Services and Phoenix Power were down by 3.33 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.52 per cent, 0.92 per cent, and 0.88 per cent respectively.
