Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4497.36 points, up by 0.17 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 609.81 points, down by 0.10 per cent. Alizz Islamic Bank was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was HSBC Bank, up by 3.42 per cent. while the top loser was Oman Fisheries bonds which closed lower by 7.23 per cent.
A total number of 235 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR860K with more than 5.10 million shares changing hands. Out of 24 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 7 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR63,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR11,000 while GCC and Arab investors remained as net sellers for OMR74,000 worth of shares
Financial Index gained 0.33 per cent to close at 6988.79 points. HSBC Bank, Bank Nizwa and Bank Muscat went up by 3.42 per cent, 1.16 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Al Sharqia Investment Holding and Bank Sohar were down 2.44 per cent, 2.11 per cent and 0.79 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.38 per cent to close at 5,445.66 points. There were no gainers from the industry sector. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were down by 7.23 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.15 per cent to close at 2,452.62 points. Phoenix Power was up by 1.82 per cent. Al Jazeera Services and Dhofar Generating Company were down by 0.93 per cent, and 0.46 per cent respectively.
