Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4460.71 points, down by 0.81 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 605.78 points, down by 0.66 per cent. Al Fajar Al Alamia was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was National Finance, up by 3.05 per cent. while the top loser was Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles which closed lower by 5.88 per cent.
A total number of 425 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.25 million with more than 9.04 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 18 declined and 8 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR1.35 million followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR91,000 while Omani investors remained as net buyers for OMR1.44 million worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.92 per cent to close at 6924.57 points. National Finance, Al Ahlia Insurance and Al Madina Takaful went up by 3.05 per cent, 2.86 per cent and 2.2 per cent respectively. Bank Nizwa, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were down 3.45 per cent, 3.23 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.5 per cent and 1.9 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.25 per cent to close at 5,431.88 points. Galfar Engineering was up by 1.98 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was down by 5.88 per cent.
Services Index lost 0.66 per cent to close at 2,436.32 points. There were no gainers on Monday. OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, Phoenix Power, Al Suwadi Power and Ooredoo were down by 4.21 per cent, 2.83 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.72 per cent and 1.48 per cent respectively.
