Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4453.03 points, up by 0.20 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 605.16 points, up by 0.09 per cent. Ooredoo was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Jazeera Services, up by 1.94 per cent, while the top loser was Al Suwadi Power which closed lower by 1.72 per cent.
A total number of 510 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.71 million with more than 5.14 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 8 declined and 10 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR623,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR180,000 while foreign investors remained as net buyers for OMR803,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.12 per cent to close at 6914.91 points. Bank Muscat, Al Madina Takaful, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding and Dhofar Insurance went up by 1.46 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.8 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Anwar Holding, HSBC Bank and National Bank Of Oman were down by 1.16 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 0.97 per cent, 0.84 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.02 per cent to close at 5396.83 points. Oman Fisheries was up by 1.27 per cent. Oman Flour Mills was down by 0.56 per cent.
Services Index gained 0.08 per cent to close at 2438.86 points. Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo, OIFC, Omantel and Al Batinah Power were up by 1.94 per cent, 1.85 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.87 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power and Renaissance Services were down by 1.72 per cent and 1.47 per cent respectively.
