Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4454.75 points, up by 0.04 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 605.70 points, up by 0.09 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Suwadi Power, up by 1.75 per cent. while the top loser was Arabia Falcon Insurance which closed lower by 9.77 per cent.
A total number of 668 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.60 million with more than 14.19 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 10 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR1.04 million followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR389,000 while Omani investors remained as net sellers for OMR1.43 million worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.15 per cent to close at 6,925.42 points. Bank Nizwa, Alizz Islamic Bank, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat went up by 1.16 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 0.98 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively. Arabia Falcon Insurance, Al Madina Investment, Ahli Bank and Vision Insurance were down 9.77 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.94 per cent and 1.36 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.18 per cent to close at 5,387.17 points. Galfar Engineering was up by 0.99 per cent. Almaha Ceramics and Oman Cement were down 2.44 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.09 per cent to close at 2,436.72 points. Al Suwadi Power and Dhofar Generating were up by 1.75 per cent and 1.42 per cent respectively. Muscat Gases, Oman National Engine. Invt, Phoenix Power and Renaissance Services were down by 6.4 per cent, 4.89 per cent, 0.9 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.
