Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4462.76 points, up by 0.08 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 604.88 points, down by 0.06 per cent. Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was National Biscuit Industries, up by 2.63 per cent. while the top loser was National Life & General Insurance which closed lower by 9.47 per cent.
A total number of 235 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.66 million with more than 5.65 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 7 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR104,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR23,000 while foreign investors remained as net buyers for OMR127,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.10 per cent to close at 6938.92 points. Al Madina Investment, Bank Nizwa and Bank Dhofar went up by 2.56 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. National Life & General Insurance, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding and Al Madina Takaful was down by 9.47 per cent, 2.19 per cent, 1.59 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.25 per cent to close at 5,371.35 points. National Biscuit Industries was up by 2.63 per cent. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were down by 2.5 per cent and 0.97 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.05 per cent to close at 2,447.03 points. Sohar Power, Dhofar Generating Company and Omantel were up by 1.65 per cent, 0.93 per cent and 0.49 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services was down by 1.5 per cent.
