Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4428.80 points, down by 0.57 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 601.97 points, down by 0.34 per cent. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Sohar Power, up by 1.63 per cent while the top loser was Dhofar Int. Dev. & Inv. Hold. which closed lower by 10 per cent.
A total number of 381 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.66 million with more than 14.96 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 20 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR792,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR466,000 while GCC and Arab investors remained as net sellers for OMR1.25 million worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.16 per cent at 6910.86 points. HSBC Bank was up by 0.85 per cent. Dhofar Int. Dev. & Inv. Hold., Al Madina Investment, Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding and Muscat Finance were down by 10 per cent, 2.5 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.48 per cent to close at 5,335.76 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Voltamp Energy, Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Oman Chlorine and Almaha Ceramics were down by 5.57 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.25 per cent, 0.68 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 1.18 per cent to close at 2,407.09 points. Sohar Power and Phoenix Power were up by 1.63 per cent and 0.9 per cent respectively. Sembcorp Salalah, OIFC, Ooredoo, Renaissance Services and Al Suwadi Power were down by 8.57 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 1.09 per cent, 1.01 per cent and 0.86 per cent repectively.
