Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4422.91 points, up by 0.05 per cent. MSM Shariah Index closed at 603.32 points, up by 0.20 per cent. Bank Dhofar was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Sharqia Investment Holding, up by 2.17 per cent while the top loser was Al Madina Investment which closed lower by 2.56 per cent.
A total number of 485 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.41 million with more than 21.95 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 5 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR1.85 million followed by Foreign investors for OMR7,000 while Omani investors remained as net buyers for OMR1.86 million worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.25 per cent at 6925.43 points. Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Bank Nizwa, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Sohar were up by 2.17 per cent, 1.22 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 1.04 per cent and 0.8 per cent repectively. Al Madina Investment was down by 2.56 per cent.
Industrial Index gained 0.05 per cent to close at 5,337.49 points. Oman Fisheries was up by 1.32 per cent. There were no losers on Wednesday.
Services Index lost 0.25 per cent to close at 2,390.21 points. Dhofar Generating Company was up by 0.46 per cent. Omantel, Sharqiyah Desalination, Phoenix Power and Sohar Power were down by 0.99 per cent, 0.81 per cent, 0.9 per cent and 0.8 per cent repectively.
