Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4479.62 points, down by 0.53 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 607.28 points, down by 0.41 per cent. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Majan College up by 8.77 per cent while the top loser was Gulf International Chemicals which closed lower by 3.06 per cent.
A total number of 522 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.66 million with more than 8.06 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 18 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR333,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR47,000 while foreign investors remained as net sellers for OMR381,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.29 per cent at 6992.14 points. Bank Dhofar and Bank Muscat were up by 1.9 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Muscat Finance, Ominvest and Al Anwar Holding were down by 2.44 per cent 1.16 per cent, 1.1 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.49 per cent to close at 5356.98 points. Raysut Cement was up by 0.48 per cent. Gulf International Chemicals, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Voltamp Energy, Oman Flour Mills and Oman Cement were down by 3.06 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 2.21 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.64 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.87 per cent to close at 2397.13 points. Majan College and Al Jazeera Services were up by 8.77 per cent and 3.39 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power, OIFC, National Gas, Renaissance Services and Ooredoo were down by 2.73 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 1.91 per cent, 1.54 per cent and 1.43 per cent respectively.
