​More than 190 domestic workers arrested in Oman

Muscat: A total of 196 illegal workers from different parts of Muscat have been arrested, the Ministry of Manpower has announced.

According to the ministry, 34 of those arrested were working as car cleaners in public places.

In a statement online, the ministry said, “The Directorate General of Labour Welfare carried out a number of inspection campaigns in the first half of December and arrested 196 illegal workers, including 34 workers who were cleaning cars in public places as well as 76 expats who were self-employed in Mawaleh.”
