Muscat: Times of Oman’s very own English-language radio station, T FM is looking forward to what the future holds, having celebrated its first birthday today.
T FM 95.4 is celebrating its first anniversary on March 5, bringing an eventful year to an end. Despite being in the running for 365 days, T FM 95.4 has managed to garner praise for bringing about plenty of change to the radio industry in the Sultanate. The station has been the sound of the people and runs on what the public demands and strives to deliver it, whenever they can.
Content that goes up on air has been carefully curated to cater to what the audience want to listen to. The motto of T FM, ‘Let’s Talk’, sums up the main focus of the station, as it relies on the voice of the listeners by making sure to interact with them whether through live shows, WhatsApp, phone calls or through social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
The brainchild behind T FM, is Ahmed Essa Al Zedjali, the CEO of Muscat Media Group the parent company of Times of Oman.
The station was launched to break the monotony in the radio industry in the Sultanate and get a fresh standpoint in the market.
“We wanted to make sure that we are able to be a medium through which the voice of the public in Oman is heard. We wanted to reach out and make an impact as well as provide top notch entertainment”, said Al Zedjali. Over a short span of time, T FM 95.4 has managed to conceptualise campaigns through which they have been able to give cash prizes worth over OMR100,000 and giveaways like air tickets, travel packages, tickets to movies, meal vouchers and more.
In addition, from meeting and interacting with global celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan to hosting important dignitaries, the CEOs of major companies and local up and coming talent, team T FM has managed to put its name on the map.
“It’s a monumental time of the year for the T FM Team,” said Garima Bhandari, Program Director of T FM. “We have grown from strength to strength. We like to think each show on T FM has been able to establish a personality of its own and our motto ‘Let’s Talk’ has worked really well for us in the last year to have a connect with our listeners.
