Muscat: A new Hindi-language action-thriller film starring John Abraham and Jackie Shroff is scheduled to be released in Oman this weekend.
Titled Romeo Akbar Walter, the title is also wordplay on India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the country’s national foreign intelligence service.
The movie stars John Abraham as a RAW agent, who dons the assumed names of Romeo, Akbar and Walter, as he goes undercover to expose secrets that could put the country at harm.
The movie is based on Ravindra Kaushik, an ex-RAW agent, whose analytical mind benefitted India during the 1971 war, in addition to revealing many more secrets. He went on to occupy a major post in the Pakistani Army so that he could go undercover and provide secrets to the Indians.
Jackie Shroff, who will also play a role in the film, promoted it on his official Twitter account, saying, “A man with many faces but with ONE mission. The mission to PROTECT his country! RAW in cinemas on 5th April! Romeo. Akbar. Walter. Based on true events. Identity. Family. Love. They will sacrifice it all for the nation.”
The movie also stars Mouni Roy, Sikander Kher, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, Boman Irani, Govind Namdev, Anil Mehta, Geetika Ohlyan and Tushar Tyagi.
