Doha: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar received in Doha yesterday Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Sayyid Hamoud conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to Sheikh Tamim, along with His Majesty's best wishes to him and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity.
On his turn, Sheikh Tamim asked Sayyid Al Busaidi to convey his greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people continuous progress under His Majesty's wise leadership.
The conversation during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the Sultanate and Qatar and a number of areas of common concern.
To promote ties between the two countries whose pillars were cemented by His Majesty the Sultan and Sheikh Tamim, an agreement in the security field was signed between Oman and Qatar.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Sultanate's government by Sayyid Hamoud, while it was signed on behalf of the Qatari government by Sheikh Abdullah.
After that, a meeting was held between Sayyid Busaidi and the Qatari minister.
Signing this agreement comes within the framework of the strong and distinguished relations binding the two countries.
Sayyid Busaidi and his accompanying delegation were received by Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in, Mohammed bin Nasser Al Wahaibi, Sultanate's ambassador to Qatar and a number of the Qatari officials.
Sayyid Al Busaidi is accompanied by Maj .Gen Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Hatmi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations and a number of officials in the Ministry of Interior and the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
