
Muscat: Four people of with ties to an international drug ring were arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on charges of possession, officials have announced.
According to the police, the smugglers were caught with cannabis and other narcotic pills in Wilayat Seeb.
"The Directorate General for the Control of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested four people in Wilayat Seeb on charges of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking them, the arrested individuals were found to be associated with an international gang," the police said.
"They were arrested with more than 100 kg worth of cannabis and 11 packages of morphine anaesthetic and psychotropic tablets," the police added.
In another case, "Police arrested two people in Wilayat Khasab on charges of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trading and trafficking, where quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were found int heir possession during the arrest," the police said.
