National Business Centre honours four incubated firms

Muscat: National Business Centre (NBC), which falls under the umbrella of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), organised a graduation ceremony for four of the incubated companies at NBC under the auspices of Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of PEIE board of directors.
Al Dheeb emphasised that the incubated companies confirm their success and the significant value of the support they receive from various institutions by moving from incubators to their own businesses.
"The support that these companies receive from institutions like the National Business Centre or Public Authority for SME Development (Riyada) or Al Raffd Fund is significant for the companies to develop and flourish in the market. Besides, the companies have shown through their presentations at the graduation ceremony that they faced several obstacles in their journeys; however they managed to find their way to further development and success," Al Dheeb said.
Malak Al Shaibani, director general of the National Business Centre, highlighted the business indicators of the centre noting that the financial returns are estimated at OMR1.3 million and the projects have created more than 74 job opportunities.
Al Shaibani informed that occupancy rate of NBC and Riyada has touched around 71 per cent. She called upon various companies to register at the centre to enjoy the benefits offered to the entrepreneurs.
The four incubated companies that have graduated from the National Business Centre comprise Deema Oman, Awtad International Company, Muscat Digital Advertising and Lab Scientific and Laboratory Supplies.
It should be noted that Deema Oman is a design company specialised in creating gift, dinnerware and jewellery inspired by Islamic art and Oman’s cultural heritage. On the other hand, Awtad International Company was set up to provide rehabilitation and support to the national projects to stretch the prospects of the largest market in the economy.
Furthermore, Muscat Digital Advertising Company is specialised in renting and supplying all kinds of advertising and digital equipment and accessories, such as display systems, digital displays, touch screens, projector, optical display Stands, professional computers and tablets with high specifications, and audio systems. Lab Scientific and Laboratory Supplies was established in October 2009 as the first Omani company supplying fine chemicals and laboratory requirements for research, genetic and forensic labs.
NBC is an initiative launched by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures.
The centre offers a premier platform for Omani entrepreneurs by providing business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.
