Muscat: Maisarah Islamic Banking Services, BankDhofar’s Islamic window, recently celebrated the expansion of its branch network in the Governorate of Sharqiyah South and officially inaugurated its eighth branch in Sur.
The event was held at the newly opened branch under the auspices of Sayyid Hamad bin Sultan Al Busaidi, deputy wali of Sur, and was attended by Abdul Hakeem Omar Al Ojaili, acting chief executive officer of BankDhofar, Sohail Niazi, chief Islamic banking officer of Maisarah Islamic Banking Services, Ismail Jama Bait Isihaq, financial controller at Maisarah Islamic Banking Services, Jamsheed Hamza, Maisarah’s head of retail, as well as members of BankDhofar and Maisarah’s executive management, guests and senior government officials.
Al Ojaili hailed the continuous efforts by the Islamic banking window to lead the Islamic financial industry in the Sultanate, stressing on its commitment to provide Sharia-compliant products and services to cater to more customers nationwide. “As part of Maisarah’s expansion plan, Sur branch has been opened to fulfil the market demand for Islamic finance solutions and Sharia-compliant products and services. The branch has started serving customers from Sur and the neighbouring areas and today we celebrated the official commencement of its operations.”
Niazi also noted that the new branch was strategically located in Sur and it is easily accessible to customers from different parts of Sharqiyah. “We have a team of dedicated and well trained staff whose key task is to meet customers’ individual banking needs and requirements for Islamic finance products and services. Today our branch network covers the Governorates of Muscat, Dakhiliyah, Batinah, Sharqiyah, Dhofar, Dhahirah. We aspire to see Maisarah in more parts of Oman, and we are very proud of the progress we’ve achieved in a very short time since we started our operations a few years ago,” he said.
