Craft industries body discusses action plan

Muscat: The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (PACI) held its second meeting this year under the chair of Sheikha Aisha bint Khalfan Al Siyabi, Chairperson of PACI.
The meeting discussed means of promoting the quality and efficiency of the craft sector.
The meeting also approved draft minutes of the first meeting and a follow-up report of the implementation of the decisions taken by the board.
The board also discussed PACI action plan and its budget for the next year, in addition to increasing crafts productivity and enhancing the contribution of the craft sector in diversifying the sources of income, achieving the added value of handicraft industries and raising the efficiency and effectiveness of craftsmanship. The meeting discussed the proposal of the Craft Waqf Project, besides addressed the minutes of the third meeting of the group specialised in allocating a percentage of the exhibits of Souq Muttrah for Omani handicrafts.
