Muscat: Citizens and residents should gear up for a fun-filled week as the fifth annual Discover America campaign kicks off this week across Muscat.
The Oman American Business Centre (AmCham Oman), the U.S. Commercial Service, and the U.S. Embassy announced about the campaign on October 6. The campaign will begin from October 11 and continue until October 19.
The week-long series of events that include food, music, film, trade promotion events and many more, will start with the US Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) Band performance on October 11. The event will take place at the Hormuz Grand Muscat hotel along with the brunch between 1pm–3pm, and at City Centre Muscat between 8pm–10pm.

American food and products will be showcased between October 13 to October 19 at Lulu Hypermarkets, Starbucks and Bath & Body Works.
“The Discover America campaign provides Omanis and expat residents an opportunity to enjoy a slice of American life and is a prime example of how public-private partnerships can have a positive impact on strengthening our bilateral relations. The campaign was initiated as a fun and innovative way to bring our two people closer together and, at the same time, to help Omanis see the increasing interest American companies have in contributing to Oman’s future,” Marc J. Sievers, US Ambassador to Oman said.
The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host a seminar focused on utilising the Free Trade Agreement. The campaign will conclude with a screening of a film at VOX cinema City Centre Qurm October 16.
