Muscat: Social Committee at the State Council hosted Omar bin Faisal, general manager of Consumer Services and Market Surveillance at the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) on Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Hamad bin Suleiman bin Salim Al Salmi, head of the Committee.
The objective of the meeting was to gain the opinion of the expert to complete a study on the proposal to develop policies to promote health.
Omar bin Faisal shared information regarding the efforts undertaken by the PACP. The meeting also reviewed the most business-related work of the committee.
The meeting concluded following the approval of minutes from the previous meeting, and a briefing on the update of the topics on its agenda and taking appropriate decisions.
Education panel meeting
Education and Research Committee at the State Council hosted specialists to discuss research in Oman.
During the meeting, specialists and committee members discussed a report, entitled “Empowering researchers in academic and research organisations and linking them to the Sultanate’s industrial and commercial organizations.”
The meeting, headed by Dr. Zuhoor Abdullah Salim Al Khanjari, Deputy Head of the Committee, was held in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council, committee members and the secretariat staff.
Dr. Saif bin Rashid Al Shaqsi, Executive Director of the National Field Research Centre for Environmental Conservation, sought information about the report to enable researchers in academic and research institutions, and link them to the industrial and commercial institutions in Oman.
The committee also discussed a range of subjects related to its study and viewed the presentation by Dr. Shaqsi, which highlighted the mission to expand the national biodiversity and environmental database, along with its strategy for interaction with national and international bodies.
