Muscat: With the Muscat Festival commencing on Thursday, the Muscat Municipality has taken steps so that visitors can easily arrive at the main venues of the festival. It will also ease the flow of traffic and reduce congestion.
The Municipality has planned three routes for reaching the Amerat Park’s parking area. Visitors coming to the park from Amerat, Quriyat and the Baushar/Amerat streets can enter via the Muhij roundabout. For those arriving from the Wadi Aday/Amerat Road, entry has been provided via the Al Akhdar roundabout.

While entering through these roundabouts, there are several ways to direct traffic towards the parking areas. In the case of Naseem Garden, those arriving from Qurum via the Bait Al Baraka roundabout will be able to take the service road to enter the North and East parking lot.
Visitors arriving from the Al Batinah Governorate will be able to enter through the Al Naseem roundabout, which will take them to the West and North parking lot.
Signs in the parking areas are placed to guide visitors to and from the venues without difficulty.
The municipality has organised these parking areas to receive maximum number of visitors, as well as installed signs to allocate parking areas for participants, sponsors and other investors at the festival.
About 5,000 parking spots have been created in the Naseem Garden, where 1,500 are located on dirt patches. A 130,000-square metre parking area has been created in Amerat Park, along with additional space to receive more than 6,000 vehicles. The service road around the park has been utilised to ease the flow of traffic in and out of Amerat Park and to ease the pressure on the main street.
