You do not have to be Omani to understand the grief our nation is currently experiencing.

The day that we have long been dreading, finally came upon us; our beloved Sultan is no more with us.

It comes to no surprise when I say every family in Oman is verwhelmed with loss and mourning.

Nothing could have prepared us for this moment. To the rest of the world he was a friend to all and an enemy to none.

However to us, he was a father to every home who listened to our needs, upheld all his promises, gave us stability, safety, equality, education, and encouraged us to respect all faiths ....

He will forever be an icon and a symbol of peace,..

We are extremely fortunate to have been a part of his reign, a reign that other leaders could only dream of.

Baba Qaboos, thank you for making Oman a modern day utopia and showing the world what it truly means to be a leader.

Indeed to god we belong and to god we shall return.

Thank you our beloved Sultan .. may you Rest In Peace in heaven.
