Muscat: Special flights from Muscat to Pakistan will be operating to repatriate Pakistani prisoners released from the Sultanate. The flights are scheduled to take off on April 16 and April 17 to Lahore and Karachi, respectively.
Talking exclusively to the Times of Oman, HE KK Ahsan Wagan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman said that the two flights will be carrying around 350 prisoners. "It is to be noted that these two flights to Pakistan are specifically arranged to carry around 350 prisoners and detainees in the Sultanate, and no others passengers will be sent. The first flight is scheduled to take off from the capital city Muscat on April 16 to Lahore followed by another flight the next day to Karachi," Wagan said.
"Out of the total prisoners released from the jails in the Sultanate, 146 have been given royal pardon. I am extremely grateful to the authorities in Oman for all the support and assistance they have provided in the arrangement of the repatriation of the Pakistani prisoners and detainees. I am hopeful that soon we will also be operating the flights to carry other Pakistani nationals," the Ambassador said.
