Supreme Committee issues decision regarding services of Omani workforce

Muscat: The Supreme Committee issues a decision not to end the services of the Omani workforce and postpone the payment of bank loans and financing loans without interest for Omani workers whose salaries are reduced.

The decisions include providing paid annual leave to their workers in closed sectors due to the current conditions.

"In the event that it is necessary starting from May, companies may negotiate with employees to reduce the wages of their employees for a period of 3 months in exchange for reducing working hours after exhausting the balance of paid employee holidays in full," the Supreme Committee statement read.

The Supreme Committee issued a number of decisions regarding Omani workers whose wages are affected by the spread of the Corona virus.

1. Postponing the repayment of bank loans and various financing loans due to them during the period of reducing wages and rescheduling loans without interest and without additional fees.

2. Postpone the payment of electricity, water and sewage bills until the end of June 2020, and allow installments due for installments due later

3. Those who are entitled to them according to the income category shall be included in the beneficiaries of the fuel subsidy card
