Muscat: As part of its continuing effort to help people adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,
Dar Al Atta'a Association has launched a new initiative under the theme "Together in Distress and Prosperity".
The initiative targets the less fortunate families whose businesses or other small sources of income have been affected by the measures taken to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
The relief and support extended by Dar Al Atta'a included food items and Iftar Saim Meals (meals for fasting persons) and other humanitarian support, payment of water and electricity bills, payment of deferred or outstanding debts, rents, installments etc.
Dar Al Atta'a support covered the governorates of Muscat, South Al Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah and Al Buraimi.
The number of those who have so far availed from the support of Dar Al Atta'a stood at 45,022 families. The total value of the support stood at OMR81,884.
The supported families included 21,845 families who received food items worth OMR43,253.
Iftar Saim Meals (meals for fasting persons) worth OMR23,053 have been provided to 23,053 persons and 78 persons have been provided humanitarian relief of OMR10,358.
Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, the Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Association, expressed her thanks to the individuals and establishments sponsoring the initiative, mainly the official sponsor Occidental Oman and to HSBC Bank, NBO, Towel Group, Nama Group, Ooredoo, Omantel, Carrefour, Oman Post, Muscat Post, Ali Thani Restaurant, Razmazan Restaurant and Mumtaz Mahal.
She also extended thanks to logistic partners Oman Charitable Organisation, Al Amirat Voluntary Team, Wadi Audai Voluntary Team and Al Watan Team.
Registration is open online at attaoman.com where both citizens and residents can fill the available application form in Arabic or English and submit the required supporting documents to facilitate the receipt of applications, she said.
