Technical team formed to identify weak buildings in Dhofar

Muscat: A technical team will be formed to identify buildings that could collapse in the old districts of Dhofar Governorate.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghassani, Chairman of the Emergency Committee in Dhofar Municipality called for exerting more efforts to contain damages resulting from the heavy rains. Removal of floodwater, waste regularly and maintaining light poles and electricity, should be priorities when the weather conditions allow, he said.

The collapse of an old building in the state of Salalah, inhabited by expatriate workers, resulted in the death and injury of three people, PACDA announced on Saturday.
