Jail term for false Covid-19 cure claims

People who make false claims of having discovered a drug to cure Covid-19 will face a jail term of three years.

This was issued as a warning by the Public Prosecution.

The publication of false news, data, or rumours that could harm public order is a crime punishable by up to three years' imprisonment.

This also includes false claims of the discovery of a drug for the Covid-19 disease.
