Khat smuggling plans foiled, offenders arrested

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of khat into the Sultanate. 

A statement issued online ROP said, "The Coast Guard police boats in Dhofar governorate thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of khat into the Sultanate by three people on a boat. Legal procedures are being completed against them."
