Muscat: The Sultanate has begun implementing the international road transport system (TIR).
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Sultanate, represented by the Asyad Group, begins implementing the international road transport system "TIR" by registering companies through Senyar, the local guarantor company that manages the registration of transport companies wishing to benefit from this service, which will harmonise transport and transit procedures in the Sultanate with more than 100 countries around the world."
Badr bin Muhammad Al-Nadabi, Acting CEO of "Senyar", one of the "Asyad" Group companies, explained, "The implementation of the system will contribute to facilitating the movement of trade and the passage of goods at border outlets and simplifying customs procedures in order to enhance the movement of import and export with the lowest period of time and cost to consumers."
