Company agrees to grant 120 days maternity leave

Muscat: Granting female employees maternity leave of 120 calendar days was among the terms of the agreement that has been signed between Vale Oman Pelletizing Union its management.
A statement issued online by General Federation of Oman workers (GFow), said:"A collective labour agreement has been signed between Vale Oman Pelletizing Union and the company's management regarding improving the work environment and providing benefits to workers.
Some provisions of the agreement :
1-Agreeing to grant the employee unpaid leave for a period of not less than one month and not more than one year.
 2-Granting employees paternity leave of 5 calendar days.
 3-Granting female employees maternity leave of 120 calendar days
 4-Providing at least one external training course for each employee provided by an agency approved and specified by the company.
5- Discussing with suitable local companies to provide mutual training opportunities
 6-Agreeing on the items mentioned in the regulations related to the number of overtime working hours and the compensatory leave policy applied internally.
 7- Continuing to provide the “Facilitation” benefit to a maximum of 50 employees per month, with a value of OMR 1,000 only, for each employee who meets the conditions for obtaining it, as it is a financial facility without interest and is deducted for a maximum period of ten months.
