Oman, Sri Lanka pave the way for a new phase of commercial cooperation

Muscat: The visit of the Omani trade delegation to Sri Lanka paves the way for a new phase of commercial cooperation between the two countries, the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman said.

His Excellency Ambassador Ameer Ajwad, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate of Oman said in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), that the visit of the Omani delegation to Sri Lanka comes as a continuation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in both countries, which aims to create broader partnerships between the private sector and explore more opportunities for cooperation and investment between the two sides.

The Ambassador indicated that the visit includes meetings with senior officials in the Sri Lankan government and the holding of the Omani-Sri Lanka Business Forum. In addition, the visit will witness bilateral meetings between Omani businessmen with their Sri Lankan counterparts and a visit to a number of companies and factories in Sri Lanka in order to discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership.

His Excellency the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman stressed that such visits are of great importance in activating bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic fields, which directly contributes to raising the volume of trade exchange and strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
