The amphibious aviation project in Oman

Muscat:The Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority ( CAA ) gives a clarity about the amphibious aviation project in the Sultanate of Oman.

His Excellency Engineer Nayef Al-Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority ( CAA ) said that there are two companies based on the commercial operation of the amphibious aviation project.

His Excellency also explained that the two companies faced a challenge in the financing department. HE also added that the Authority stood by the companies as the project was ambitious and one of its kind.

He further added that, "The current work is advanced in procedures but it is not an ambition that we are satisfied with and hence we are counting on two companies to operate."

His Excellency pointed to the ability of amphibious aviation to link sites to each other such as Muscat, Duqm, Masirah, Al Jabal Al Akhdar and the Hallaniyat Islands.

This came during the second media meeting of the Civil Aviation Authority, in which it also announced the accomplishments during the year 2022, the plan for the year 2023 and the most prominent projects that will be implemented.
