Oman weather: Rain falls in many parts of Dhofar

Muscat: Rain fell in different parts of Salalah this morning, residents and weather enthusiast said.

“It started to rain from early morning. Even though it was a light one, in many parts, it lasted for hours,” Basil Peter, a resident said.

Bader Ali Al Baddaei, an administrator of www.rthmc.net, a local web-based forum that discusses weather in Oman, told the Times of Oman that skies over Salalah are still cloudy and rain is expected in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, Oman meteorology department has predicted rain in coastal areas of Dhofar and adjoining mountains today.

Yesterday, rain fell in different parts of Oman.

“Rain fell in Dhalkot, Ibri and Mudhaibi,” Oman meteorology tweeted.

Jason Nicholls, a senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, citing various weather models had predicted storms in Oman from Wednesday.

“Spotty storms in Oman through Wednesday, mainly mountains; little rain in Muscat. More widespread rain South West Arabian Peninsula,” Jason tweeted on his official twitter handle on Sunday.
