Muscat: An Air India flight from Delhi to Tel Aviv was diverted to Abu Dhabi on Sunday as there was a missile attack near the airport in the Israeli capital, according to Indian news outlets which said that the attack occurred less than an hour before the scheduled arrival of flight AI139.
Consequently, the return flight has been cancelled. Traffic at the airport was briefly suspended after a missile landed near the Tel Aviv airport.
According to Indian media outlets, Air India, in a statement confirmed the incident and said that the aircraft landed normally in Abu Dhabi and would soon return to New Delhi.
Flights to and from Tel Aviv would remain suspended till Tuesday, May 6 as the airline assists with alternative arrangements.
