
Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the proceedings of the Second International Justice Conference, convened under the theme "Judicial Quality". The two-day gathering is being hosted in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Sunday.
The Omani delegation to the conference was led by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs.
The conference brings together a distinguished assembly of ministers of justice, presidents of judicial authorities, and eminent experts from more than fifty nations. The agenda encompasses a series of deliberative sessions, featuring over forty distinguished speakers, with the objective of facilitating the exchange of expertise concerning the enhancement and evaluation of judicial quality. It further aims to examine the challenges confronting the justice sector and to propose practical solutions, with a focus on the role of legislative frameworks and judicial procedures in fortifying quality standards. The conference also seeks to elevate the proficiency of human resources, build institutional capacity, and foster effective international partnerships for the sharing of knowledge in the advancement of judicial quality.
The conference will deliberate upon a spectrum of pivotal themes, including mechanisms for the development of legislative systems and their role in promoting judicial excellence, the evolution of judicial procedures and their impact on safeguarding quality, the attainment of quality in alternative dispute resolution methods, and the role of the legal profession in guaranteeing judicial quality. Additional focal points encompass the influence of digital transformation in elevating quality standards and the instruments for achieving preventive justice.
This participation reflects the Sultanate of Oman's enduring commitment to the exchange of expertise in domains pertinent to legislative advancement and legal governance. It is also in full consonance with the priorities of "Oman Vision 2040," which emphasises the reinforcement of the legislative system in accordance with the Vision's pillar dedicated to legislation, the judiciary and oversight.
