
Manama: The Sultanate of Oman achieved an international feat by winning the Photography World Cup for Digital Images in two categories at the 42nd FIAP International Photography Biennial, organized by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Oman won the cup in the following categories: Youth under 16 years with 402 points and youth under 25 years with 348 points.
This is a national achievement added to the success record of Omani youth in international forums, reflecting the advanced artistic level reached by Omani photographers in the art of photography.
Omani photographers also achieved distinguished results at the individual level: Youth under 16 years as Amir bin Mohsin Al Hajri won the FIAP Silver Medal. Layan bint Sultan Al Batashi and Yaseen bin Mohsin Al Hajri won the Bronze Medal. In the youth under 25 years category, Wahab bin Ibrahim Al Kindi won the FIAP Silver Medal.
This victory reaffirms the keenness of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth to support Omani photographers and encourage them to showcase their talents and artistic creativity through participation in international competitions and forums that contribute to enhancing the global presence of Omani youth.
