
Musanah :The Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) celebrated the SAF Day, which falls on 11 December every year.
This day embodies the highest meanings of sacrifice and loyalty, confirming the SAF's lofty position in building and prospering the nation and protecting its achievements and gains.
On this occasion, the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) organized a ceremony today at the Said bin Sultan Naval Base, with the participation of the other SAF divisions, under the auspices of Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.
The ceremony included several musical performances by the Joint Military Band, and a visual presentation on the history of the SAF and the great roles and immense national tasks they undertake. This was followed by a practical demonstration involving several RNO naval vessels, supported by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) and the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), which embodied the level of integration and joint coordination among various military, security, and civil authorities.
The National Free Fall Team of the RAO also presented a parachute display in the sky over the celebration grounds, reflecting the high competence and skill of its personnel. The celebration reflected the level of efficiency and readiness and the development and progress witnessed by the SAF under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
In commemoration of this glorious occasion, the third edition of the special postage stamps for the Ministry of Defense was launched in cooperation with Oman Post. This issuance embodies the MoD's commitment to building national capacities and competencies, fulfilling the objectives of the priority of Education, Learning, and Scientific Research within the Human and Society axis of Oman Vision 2040.
The SAF also celebrated SAF Day today in Musandam Governorate, under the auspices of Rear Admiral Ali bin Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College.
On this occasion, the RAFO, with the participation of the SAF divisions, organized a ceremony at the Khasab Air Base. The event included several military skills and varied musical performances and artistic segments, a parachute jump by the RAFO Free Fall Team, in addition to a flyover by a number of helicopters. The ceremony also included an accompanying exhibition showcasing a number of modern and advanced weapons and equipment that meet the requirements and national tasks undertaken by the SAF.
The celebration reflected the high capabilities and skills of the SAF personnel, as well as the development and modernization witnessed under the Royal attention and gracious patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
In Dhofar Governorate, the SAF also celebrated their annual day, under the auspices of Major General Khalifa bin Ali Al Siyabi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
On this occasion, the RAO, with the participation of the SAF divisons, organized a ceremony today at the Military Review Field in Najour Sahlinout Camp in Dhofar Governorate. The ceremony began with a military salute to the chief guest. Afterwards, the chief guest and attendees watched a number of military displays and skills that expressed the high morale and combat readiness, reflecting loyalty to the homeland and to His Majesty the Sultan.
The ceremony also included a military infantry parade presented by the SAF divisions, military skills demonstrations, and a performance of the traditional Al Haboot folk art presented by the Firaq Forces. The RAO Military Music Band presented a collection of military tunes, alongside operational procedure simulation competitions presented by the Sultan of Oman Artillery, demonstrating high competence. Finally, the Sultan of Oman Parachute Free Fall Team presented a parachute display in the sky over the celebration grounds.
The occasion was attended by a number of ministers, undersecretaries, commanders of the SAF and military and security services, a number of retired commanders, senior officers of the SAF and military and security services, a number of retired senior officers, SAF personnel, and a gathering of invitees.
