India: Malayalam film actor Maniyanpilla Raju has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Thiruvananthapuram.
The arrest relates to a late-night accident involving a car allegedly driven by the actor on Thursday near the Trivandrum Club at Vazhuthacaud, in which two youths sustained serious injuries.
Police said the accident occurred on February 5 at around 9.30 pm, when the car rammed into a Royal Enfield motorcycle. CCtv footage shows that the car driver did not stop the vehicle after the accident, and fled the scene. The riders, Suraj (20) and Nivedith Krishna (20), were critically injured in the collision and were admitted to a hospital.
