Oman waives OMR100 Million in labour fines in 2025

Muscat : A total of OMR100 million in fines was waived in 2025 as part of efforts to correct the labour market situation in the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Mahad bin Saeed Baawain, Minister of Labour, said during the ‘Together Moving Forward’ forum.

The minister highlighted that the move came within the framework of regulating the labour market, addressing violations, and providing establishments and workers the opportunity to rectify their status in line with labour laws.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Khalid bin Salim Al-Ghamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour, revealed significant progress in integrating people with disabilities into the workforce.

He said that 2,500 people with disabilities were employed in the private sector by the end of 2025, while 2,000 are currently employed in the government sector.

Al-Ghamari added that 100 additional job opportunities will soon be offered to people with disabilities in the government sector as part of continued efforts to enhance inclusion and employment opportunities for this segment of society.
