Child drowns in Barka

Muscat: The Search and Rescue Sector of the National Emergency Management Committee has confirmed the tragic death of a 7-year-old child following a drowning accident in a water pool in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate. The child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

This incident raises the total number of fatalities linked to the ongoing Al-Masarrat Trough weather event to six.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise extreme caution, particularly near water bodies, and emphasized the importance of vigilant supervision of children to prevent further accidents.
