Two Omani women drown in Ibri water pool

Ibri: The Search and Rescue Sector reported the death of two female citizens after a tragic drowning incident in a water pool formed in a wadi in the Wilayat of Ibri, within the  Al Dhahirah Governorate.

According to authorities, one of the victims entered the water and began to drown, prompting the second woman to attempt a rescue. Both individuals were subsequently overwhelmed by the water and drowned.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, where they recovered the two deceased.

The incident comes amid ongoing weather disturbances and rainfall across parts of Oman, which have led to the formation of water pools in wadis and low-lying areas, increasing the risk of such accidents.
