Muscat: Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate witnessed heavy rainfall today, accompanied by strong winds. As a result, most of the wilayat’s wadis were flowing with intense and forceful currents due to the ongoing weather conditions affecting several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The wilayat center and its surrounding villages experienced heavy rainfall, leading to the flow of Wadi Al Mallah, Wadi Al Lathli, Wadi Buhasiyah, and Wadi Al Salil, in addition to Wadi Al Masilah, which runs through the center of the wilayat, along with other wadis extending across the confluence areas toward the southern villages.
Samad Al Shaan and all its villages also experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds, resulting in the flow of several wadis, including Wadi Al Wariyah, Wadi Baad, Wadi Al Ram, Wadi Andam, Wadi Al Suwayrij, Wadi Dhaadhah, and Wadi Al Rawdah, in addition to Wadi Samad Al Shaan and Wadi Al Batha.
The heavy rains caused damage, including the disruption of some road routes between villages. However, traffic movement has been gradually restored after clearing debris and wadi sediments. Power outages were also reported in some villages due to the impact of flowing wadis. According to statistics issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, total rainfall recorded in Al Mudhaibi during the period from March 20 to 27 reached 225 mm.
