Muscat: A workshop on "Preparing Social Research for Family Cases in Courts," was held today in Muscat.
The event reviewed the most prominent challenges facing social and psychological specialists in divorce and family cases. This aims to contribute to improving the quality of social reports, supporting judicial decision-making, and reaching the best practices in preparing social research that supports judicial and social work.
The workshop, held under the auspices of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development for Family and Community Development Affairs, aimed to develop the skills of preparing social research, raise the efficiency of specialists, and enhance the unification of concepts and the exchange of expertise among the concerned authorities.
Organized by the Supreme Judiciary Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, the workshop focused on the practical aspects of preparing social research for family cases.
It discussed methodologies for information gathering and analysis, and mechanisms for preparing social reports according to professional foundations that contribute to enhancing the quality of outputs presented to courts. It also included the exchange of practical experiences among participants regarding the most prominent challenges facing social researchers in social work.
The organization of the workshop, which saw the participation of a number of social researchers and specialists from the Supreme Judiciary Council and the Ministry of Social Development, comes within the framework of cooperation, integration, and both sides' keenness to develop the family justice system and elevate the services provided to families.
This aims to enhance the integration between judicial and social aspects and contribute to achieving the best interests of the family and society.
