MUSCAT: A low-pressure system over the southwest of the Arabian Sea is being monitored by Oman's National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, with forecasts indicating no direct impact on the Sultanate over the next five days.
According to the latest satellite images and weather analyses, the system is centred at longitude 59.0° East and latitude 7.7° North, with wind speeds around its centre estimated at 17 to 27 knots (31 to 50 km/h).
Forecasts indicate that the system is expected to move westward and northwestward towards the Horn of Africa.
However, high and medium-level clouds are expected to flow over parts of Oman, potentially bringing scattered rainfall to parts of Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates.
The possibility of rainfall is expected to increase gradually from next Wednesday, according to the latest weather analysis.
