Oman delegation to attend Asian award event in Dubai

Muscat: UAE’s leading business ideation company, IEDEA that has since 2011, forged a close and strong relationship with Oman, has announced an association with the UAE Ministry of Economy for its flagship leadership event series, the Asian Business Leadership Forum (ABLF) 2016 in Dubai.
“We are honoured to have the official association with the Ministry of Economy of the UAE and the ABLF, which has earned high credibility and status across 42 nations of Asia since the inaugural event nine years ago,” said Malini N. Menon, managing director of IEDEA.
“Oman has always been at the heart of the ABLF’s West Asia narrative and the Award platform has showcased the finest Omani business and government leadership,” she added. The ABLF has felicitated and showcased Omani leaders over the years.
Dr Mohammed bin Hamad Al Ruhmi, Oman’s minister of Oil and Gas, was awarded the ABLF Statesmen Award in 2015; Khalil Abdullah Al Khonji was awarded the ABLF Ambassador of Commerce Award during his tenure as chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Federation of the GCC Chambers (FGCCC) in 2013.
Dr Omar bin Abdul Muniem Al Zawawi, founder and chairman, Omar Zawawi Establishment and Mohammed Al Zubair, founding chairman, Zubair Corporation were recipients of the ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 and 2011 respectively. Hind Bahwan, director, Suhail Bahwan Group, was another defining Omani leader who was showcased at the ABLF 2011.
This year, Dr Ali Masoud Ali Al Sunaidy, minister of commerce and industry, was nominated to receive the ABLF Award, but due to his busy schedule, the award felicitation has been planned in a future edition. However, the delegation will represent the business and government vibrancy of the Sultanate of Oman at this global award ceremony.
The ABLF Awards is scheduled for November 12 in Dubai.
